Late To The Party

Congressman Obey rants about “idiot liberals” that want Congress to de-fund the Iraq War. Well Congressman Obey, if you stop voting like an idiot moderate when it comes to the war and instead spend your time explaining to the public what cutting off funding really means (and stop repeating idiotic Republican talking points), you might actually be able to accomplish what the American people sent the Democrats to Washington to do. Stop whining and start running, you’ve got a lot of ground to cover if you hope to catch up to the public on this one.

I have to give it to Mr. Obey, he realizes the far left is driving the party over the cliff.. How foolish you all must feel to have actually thought your views were going to be listened to after the election.

The Dem party played you all like dolts and you put them into power... Good look getting an audience know. You were only a stool to power..

Truly astounding statements. But then the lines to the wingnut Kool-aid machines are shorter and you ARE drinking more.

You don't have the guts or the facts to respond to any of the challenges to your wingnuttery thatI and others have confronted you with, and you ignore the 'count' needed to pass non binding resolutions, let alone meaningful bills.

Now, let's talk about 'dolts'.
Beginning with the Chief Dolt and National embarrassment that you and your fellow 'faith
based' nitwits continue to support....all 30% or so of you. Do you want to chronicle the achievements of the Repugs YOU put into power?

You're only an enabler to the abuse of power of the most breathtakingly incompetent, shamelessly hypocritical Administration in American history.

Speaking of hypocrisy, Go Newt!

I couldn't paste the emphatic 'down arrows' that accompany these observations, but you get the drift, I'm certain.

Rebut or refute:

CW: Gops Gone Wild Edition
Newsweek
March 19, 2007 issue - Every day brings another revelation about substandard care and excessive red tape for vets. Good reporting, but why did it take so long?

Bush Walter Reed negligence echoes Katrina incompetence. And news from Iraq, Libby courtroom hurts too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cheney Any way you slice it, the Libby trial exposes him as a vindictive prevaricator. P.S.: He's lost his gravitas.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Libby Facing major jail time (until he's pardoned). Scooter was the ultimate fall guy and now he's a figure of pity.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rove Claims Clinton purged prosecutors for political reasons midterm, just like Bush. Only problem: Not true.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gingrich Admits adultery with Hill staffer (now wife No. 3) while pressing Clinton impeachment. A family-values candidate!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Coulter Paris Hilton of politics calls Edwards a "faggot," won't apologize. Not exactly an asset for the GOP.

Who has seen the C-span video of Pam Hess? She now understands. Leaving Iraq is immoral, she knows it now. It is not about why we went in, what we did wrong, and who is to blame, it is all about protecting the innocent and killing the bad guys.
The Iraq War is/was ignoble. Saving human lives from the civil war, from the terrorists, from the criminals, is noble and a just cause.
Our government spilt the milk and we must clean it up.
It was wrong to go into Iraq. It is wrong to leave Iraq.
Two wrongs do not make a right.

I hope that you google the video of Pam Hess on C-Span and watch it.

It is odd, drm, to read how "values" oriented Republicans are supposed to vote according to divine principles and not by watching the polls or pandering to the media. And yet you seem outraged that the Democrats should have principles.

Of course, the GOP didn't take the moral high ground. They wrapped themselves in the flag and sang "God Bless America" and forced Dems to sing along or brand them America-Haters.

The question of "getting an audience" is key. The media really has a "conservative" bias. The idea that the media is leftwing is laughable. Come on. Just do a head count of the major American journalists who speak the the public daily or more than once weekly and the overwhelming majority are conservative.

How foolish Chris Wallace must have felt to actually have thought he could badger Bill Clinton! What was he thinking! Oh, dear me, he's the talking dead; he doesn't think thoughts unless told by Murdoch.

drm--You seem to want to believe that the Democrats are the same authoritarian "daddy" Party that the Republicans are, but that just isn't the case.

On our side of the aisle, we don't rubber stamp absurdities, nor do we acquiesce to "strong" leaders like your dear President. Instead we try to hold our elected representatives accountable to the "truths" they hocked to those that elected them, and we debate issues until they are resolved. The Democratic Party is a means to an end for my kind, they are not the arbiters of truth, nor do they issue the final word. If you rank and file Republicans had held your "leaders" to the same standard, we wouldn't be here (broke, China's bitch, stock market tumbling downward, in never ending debt, in a war that is un-winnable, sacrificing our young for Halliburton profits (that they're now planning to shelter overseas in Dubai), hated by the rest of the world (did you see the protests in Latin America?), giving up our civil liberties for a man you people seem to think was ordained by God to "lead" us) in the first place.

Try cleaning up your own pigsty before casting aspersions on my dusty mantle!

Dale H,

Rewind to 1993 and look up what happened to 96 of 97 US Attorneys when Clinton took office.

Bonus trivia question (interesting fact). Who was the only US Attorney retained by Clinton?

David,

Do you even know the daily viewership totals of Fox news as compared to the daily viewership totals of the nightly news on CBS, NBC, ABC. If fox gets 1/10th the viewers I would be amazed.

I cannot even name a conversative on CBS, NBC, ABC that holds a major news position. Last time I checked it was one of the deans of the evening news, Dan Rather, that peddled a totally bogus news story in an attempt to affect an election.

So the question becomes, does being conservative mean the news will be biased?

LGND,

what I find ammusing is you seem to think the reason the Dems took power was because the public wanted us out of Iraq. Believing that leads you down paths that will deal you a losing hand in 2008. If you believe standing with the Code Pinks, A.N.S.W.E.R, Daily Kos, etc of the left will build you a lasting majority I say, "Be my guest". The only way to move your agenda forward is to build lasting majorities but the problem is most of your agenda is soundly rejected by the majority of the country.

It must make you feel real bad that your agenda is constantly rejected but keep up the fight, it makes my work much easier.

p.s., I love the extra 20bil in pork that is being added to the defense spending bill... same old BS, different party.

Just curious. Were you predicting a 'losing hand' for the Dems heading into the '06 elections?

Most of what 'sgenda'? Oh, you mean using reason and evidence in formulating policy instead of the faith based, reactionary nonsense that not even you can defend?

It's been said that laughter is the best medicine. Keep posting, propeller beany boy. This is one Repug 'prescription med bill' we can all get behind!

drm, my goodness! It's amusing to read your posts. I half expect you still think those WMD were found in Iraq and that one day Nixon will be vindicated. LOL.

Unfortunately, your rearguard actions look lame even when a few days old. Your talking points stale that quickly.

And the Poor Me line attributed to Fox is a hoot! Fox had the top 5 shows in last week's ratings schedule. Unfortunately, the high ratings of American Idol doesn't seem to pull in the viewers for Bill O'Reilly. Perhaps if he didn't opine what fun child abuse can be or stopped yelling at people to "Shut up!"

And, as for the liberal media bias, I'm sorry, to me most Mainstream News looks centrist. Of course, that's what infuriates Murdoch. He wants News 24/7 that is unfair and unbalanced. It doesn't help that the neo-cons have moved the goal posts and now define all moderates and centrists as "liberals".
