Breaking News: Three Months Later, But Who’s Counting?
News has finally reached the television (Raw Story reported it months ago) that the Bush administration not only outed a CIA agent under non-official cover, but that officer, Valerie Plame, was working specifically on nuclear weapons material going into Iran. Oops. I wonder how they’re going to spin this one? Crooks & Liars has the video that aired on Hardball earlier tonight.
It’s very likely that this was not an oops at all, but a twofer. With one broad stroke, they could discredit Joe Wilson as he tried to warn the public that the Bush administration was lying about their reasons for invading Iraq, and at the same time, they could wipe out any accurate intelligence for their next imperial move, war with Iran.
Perhaps the mainstream media is feeling a little queasy about covering another war, one that is possibly going to be started with the use of nuclear weapons, by us. I hope that this is just the beginning of the proper framing of Patrick Fitzgerald’s investigation into the leaking of Valerie Plame’s name to the media. It is all about the justifications for war and the Bush administration’s determination to create a Middle East firmly under our control.
As badly as the war in Iraq is going, the Bush administration doesn’t seem to have learned anything, and they appear to be just as eager to start a war with Iran. Does anyone doubt that the intelligence will be fixed around the policy yet again? The only difference between now and four years ago is not what the Bush administration is willing to do, but what the press and the American people are willing to let them get away with. They will try to con us into supporting an attack on Iran and there may be another catastrophic event to rival 9/11 that they will use to do just that. I just hope that we won’t let them get away with it this time. Fool me once, and all that.

Not only is Iran in the crosshair but Syria too. Read this: http://neutraltopics.blogspot.com/2006/03/15-seconds-911-revisited.html
It's all there.
I thought it went something like, "Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me...you can't get fooled again."
Darthimmortal--Yes, the whole axis of evil is in their crosshairs until we can get rid of our own axis of medieval here at home.
Kristin--You're exactly right, just how my grandfather taught me.
